Terms and Conditions

These terms and conditions constitute the comprehensive agreement governing the provision of Airport Transfers, Local, or Long-Distance Services (hereinafter referred to as the “Service”) between you and A1 Tunbridge Wells Taxis. By utilizing the service, you unequivocally accept the terms and conditions outlined herein. A1 Tunbridge Wells Taxis operates under the trading name of Tunbridge Wells Private Hire.

Any alterations to the terms or conditions by the customer shall remain ineffective unless mutually agreed upon in writing by the Company.

A1 Tunbridge Wells Taxis, a private hire taxi company, collaborates with clients to ensure a secure and dependable mode of transport for end-users. Should you require a receipt for your journey, paid either by cash or card, you can obtain one from the driver or contact us via telephone at 01892 322 606.

Bookings:

A1 Tunbridge Wells Taxis will furnish you with a quotation for your airport transfer, long-distance, or local journeys based on the information provided by you.

A1 Tunbridge Wells Taxis reserves the right to modify the quotation in case of any substantial changes to the initial itinerary, the number of passengers, or the required vehicle type. Kindly note that any jobs not originating from, destined to, or passing through Tunbridge Wells will incur a surcharge as our drivers must travel out of town to fulfill such requests.

Airport Transfers:

When booking your Taxi, please allow adequate time to accommodate airline check-in requirements and potential traffic delays. A1 Tunbridge Wells Taxis shall not be liable for any delays resulting from your failure to allocate sufficient time to reach your destination or if passengers are unprepared for collection at the scheduled time.

Ensure that you request a suitable car size considering the number of passengers and luggage. A1 Tunbridge Wells Taxis cannot guarantee transportation of excessive luggage. Please note that regardless of age, a child counts as one passenger.

While A1 Tunbridge Wells Taxis always checks for flight delays before dispatching the driver to the airport, we rely solely on information provided by Airport Websites.

Upon accepting your quotation, kindly review your booking confirmation meticulously and promptly inform A1 Tunbridge Wells Taxis of any discrepancies. A1 Tunbridge Wells Taxis shall not be held liable for any delays or incurred costs resulting from inaccurate information provided.

All parking charges must be settled by the customer on the day of collection from the airport unless stated/agreed otherwise in advance.

Payment methods accepted include credit/debit cards and cash. Cheque payments are not accepted.

You can opt to receive a full receipt via email or receive hand-written business card receipts from your driver. Please note that emailed receipts may take up to 24 hours to process.

Account Work:

Regarding account work, A1 Tunbridge Wells Taxis collaborates with clients to ensure services are rendered as per the customer’s specifications.

By utilizing the company’s services on account, you agree to settle all invoices for journeys provided by the company. Invoices will be issued post the completion of journeys and payment shall be due within 30 days from the invoice date.

Service Vehicle Conduct:

You are accountable for the conduct of all passengers throughout the entire journey. A charge of £85.00 will be incurred for cleaning costs if the vehicle is soiled by any passenger.

Consumption of food and beverages is prohibited in the vehicles, except under exceptional circumstances for infants or medical reasons with prior permission. All children must be restrained in accordance with prevailing laws and regulations. Suitable child seats, wherever possible, should be provided and installed by the child’s parent/guardian. These can be retained by the driver for return journey bookings. A1 Tunbridge Wells Taxis will not exceed the passenger limit permitted by its insurance or licensing.

Smoking is strictly prohibited in all our vehicles.

Cancellations and Bookings:

In the event of a cancellation, please notify A1 Tunbridge Wells Taxis as soon as possible. Cancellations made more than 24 hours prior to the booking time will not incur a penalty charge. Refunds will be issued at the discretion of Management. Late cancellations may incur a penalty of up to 50% of the fare amount under exceptional circumstances.

As a general guideline, airport journeys are dispatched up to one hour before flight arrival, while local area journeys are dispatched up to fifteen minutes prior to the scheduled time.

Invoices will be generated for cancellations of bookings that have not been prepaid. These invoices must be settled within 30 days, and any outstanding invoices will incur a minimum 10% charge of the original invoice amount. Timely payment is crucial. Failure to remit payment within the specified timeframe entitles us to send a written notice and, upon the expiration of seven days, to charge for costs and expenses incurred in recovering late payments, in addition to charging interest at the prevailing rate as per the Late Payment of Commercial Debts (Interest) Act 1998 or the rate stated above, whichever is higher, from the due date.

It is recommended to contact us via our contact number to cancel bookings, speak to our telephone staff.

Refunds for credit/debit card transactions can only be issued to the original card used within 7 days of the original booking date.

Liability:

A1 Tunbridge Wells Taxis endeavors to transport you to your destination punctually; however, we shall not be held liable for any losses due to delays caused by road or traffic conditions beyond our control during the journey. Under no circumstances shall A1 Tunbridge Wells Taxis be liable for loss of profits, business, or any indirect or consequential losses. While A1 Tunbridge Wells Taxis strives to provide a reliable service, occasional delays may occur due to reasons beyond our control. If the vehicle is delayed, please contact the control immediately for updates.

All luggage is carried at your own risk. Lost property is retained by the office for a period of 2 weeks before being disposed of.

In the event of circumstances beyond our control, A1 Tunbridge Wells Taxis reserves the right to cancel all services and provide refunds of up to 100% (within 7 days of the original booking date). In case of a breakdown during the journey, A1 Tunbridge Wells Taxis will arrange an alternative with a reasonable timeframe.

You agree to indemnify A1 Tunbridge Wells Taxis against all losses, costs, damages, and expenses arising from any act or omission of any passenger in your party.

A1 Tunbridge Wells Taxis acts as an agent for clients of self-employed drivers, and may share customer information to facilitate safe and timely pick-ups. A1 Tunbridge Wells Taxis cannot be held liable for any misuse of this information by clients or subsequent drivers beyond our control.

Neither party excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for willful default or fraudulent misrepresentation, or in any manner unenforceable under applicable law.

Termination:

A1 Tunbridge Wells Taxis reserves the right to refuse or terminate any booking immediately if it poses a risk of damage, violence, or abuse to any driver or vehicle by you or your passengers. In such cases, all passengers must vacate the vehicle when safe to do so.

No refunds will be provided for journeys terminated partway through the hire; full fare will be due to the driver, and/or an invoice will be issued if the journey is not prepaid.

Company Rights and Powers:

A1 Tunbridge Wells Taxis may amend these terms and conditions at any time by posting changes online. It is recommended to regularly review these terms and conditions to stay informed of any updates.
